A blank timeline worksheet for any subject

Print the timeline gives one Letter or A4 page. One blank timeline worksheet serves a life, a story or a science project.

Timelines with the years printed

Three lines are marked every ten years, for the 1700s, the 1800s and the 1900s, and one every hundred years from 1000 to 2000. A line numbered 0 to 10 is a timeline template for kids to chart their own life by age.

Boxes in place of a line

As a timeline template for students who write more, two sheets have a row of boxes joined by arrows, with Date: at the top of each. A table with Date and Event columns runs down the page.

Count the events first, then pick the blank timeline printable with that many marks.
Decide what one space between marks stands for, such as a year or a chapter, before the first date goes on.

Questions and answers

How many events fit on a printable blank timeline?

Four, six, eight, ten or twelve on one line, by the sheet you pick. Two blank timelines on a page hold six each.

How do I get a printable timeline PDF?

Pick the timeline, press the print button and choose Save as PDF as the printer. On an iPhone or iPad, tap the share icon on the print screen, then Save to Files. That saves a blank timeline PDF; the page makes none of its own.

Can I type on the timeline before printing?

On the two box timelines and the table, yes: press a box or a line and type. The lines with marks print as they are and are filled in by hand.
