Five lists, from the carrot to the puddle

Start from a list swaps the grid for one of five themes. Snowman Parts has 23 words, from Buttons to Earmuffs. How to Build a Snowman has the verbs of the job: Scoop, Pack, Roll, Lift, Stack, Decorate. Melting Snowman is a science list (Solid, Liquid, Vapor, Sublimation), and Snowmen Around the World has Yukidaruma, the Japanese word for a snowman.

For kindergarten or for fifth grade

Easy Snowman keeps to the 50 words of 3 to 5 letters, such as Coal, Twig and Nose. For kindergarten, open More options and tick Large print. Hard Snowman holds the 19 longest, Photograph and Temperature among them. With Hard pressed they may run backwards.

  • Tick Show clues, not words in More options: pupils read "The smallest snowball, set on top" and find Head.
  • Early finishers can go on to the snowman color by number.
