Choose the verb
Set opens on Choose the verb (81 sentences): Everyone ___ ready takes is, and Both of my brothers ___ tall takes are. Words in between do not change the answer: in One of my shoes ___ missing, the subject is one, so the verb is is.
Find the pronoun, and singular or plural
Find the pronoun (38 sentences) asks which of three words is the indefinite pronoun. Singular or plural (21) names a pronoun and asks which verb it takes. All, some, most, any and none can take either verb, so they are never in the verb set.
- Cover the words between the pronoun and the blank: Each (of the kittens) has white paws.
