How it works
Each hard maze printable here is drawn new at 30 by 30, 40 by 40 or 50 by 60 squares, with exactly one route from Start to Finish. Press New maze for another. The solution prints on a second page.

Pick a size
Hard is 30 by 30 squares, Big is 40 by 40 and Giant is 50 by 60, which puts 3,000 squares on one sheet. Every size fills one Letter or A4 page, so a bigger maze has narrower corridors. Bring a sharp pencil for Giant.
Pick how the paths grow
Under Paths, Long corridors draws winding passages where a wrong turn can run a long way before it stops. More dead ends draws about twice as many dead ends, so a choice comes every few squares. Try both at one size.
Print it
Print gives two sheets: the maze, then the same maze with the route in grey.
- Stuck? Start again from Finish and work backward. Both ends lead onto the same single route.
- Shade each dead end back to its last junction. In a maze with no loops, what stays unshaded is the route.
- One hand kept on a wall always reaches Finish here, because every wall joins the rest. It is slow, never lost.
Questions and answers
Is any maze impossible on this page?
No. An impossible maze printable would have no way through. Every maze here has exactly one route from Start to Finish, no loops and no closed-off squares, and the solution page shows it. Giant is as near to impossible as it gets.
Which is the hardest maze printable here?
Giant, at 50 by 60 squares, or 30 rings if you choose Round. For a super hard maze, set Paths to More dead ends, print one sheet only and leave the solution in the printer tray until the end.
What makes a maze puzzle difficult?
Size, and how the false paths behave. A difficult maze hides one route among 900 to 3,000 squares, and its wrong turns either run long or come often. A very hard maze has no trick walls: a hard maze puzzle is simply bigger.
Can I print these as hard maze worksheets for a class?
Yes. Each sheet prints with a Name and Date line and a title line you can change. Print copies of one maze for the whole class, or press New maze between prints so no two neighbors match. Print the solution once.
