Eighths as percents and decimals
One eighth is 12.5%, or 0.125, and a score out of 8 is that many eighths, so no percent here needs rounding. The odd scores end in a half: 3 right is 37.5%, 5 right 62.5% and 7 right 87.5%. The even scores are quarters: 2 right is 25%, 4 right 50% and 6 right 75%.

What is a 5 out of 8?
5 out of 8 is 62.5%, a D, with 3 wrong. It is the lowest whole score that reaches a D, since 4 right is 50%. It clears a pass mark of 60% and misses one of 70%; your school sets the mark.
