Say the word, or only the clue

Each call shows a word and its clue: stapler, it joins sheets of paper with a small piece of metal. With beginners, say the word and point to the real thing. Later, read only the clue, so the class has to listen and work out which square to cover.

Verbs to act out

The daily routine list holds 24 actions, from wake up to sleep. Mime the action in place of the clue. To check a win, the player says a sentence with each covered phrase: I brush my teeth before school.

  • For 5 × 5 cards, pick All 144 words. One list of 24 fills the card, so every card would hold the same words.

Questions and answers

Are these ESL bingo cards printable for free?

Yes. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to pay. A class of 24 prints on 12 sheets of Letter or A4 at 2 cards to a page, and the call sheet adds every word with its clue beside it.

Which words are on the ESL bingo printable?

144 everyday words, 24 to a list: pencil and stapler, jacket and sandals, library and bus stop, wake up and do homework, sunny and puddle, kitchen and pillow. Food, feelings and jobs are left out; each has a bingo page of its own.

Are these printable ESL bingo games for kids?

Yes. The words name everyday things, places and actions, and each clue is one or two short sentences. For young beginners, step Grid down to 3 × 3 and say the word, not the clue.

Can I play ESL bingo with my own vocabulary list?

Yes. Paste the word list from your unit onto the page and the cards are made from your words. Pasted words come without clues, so say the word, show a picture or give a clue of your own.
