Five sets after Circuit Unit Words

Circuits and Parts has Resistor, Diode and Breadboard. Current, Voltage and Units has Ohm, Ammeter and Frequency. Conductors and Insulators has Graphite, Porcelain and Nichrome. Static Electricity has Friction, Induction and Electroscope. Power for Homes has Turbine, Substation and Pylon.

Why the clues say loop and flow

Circuit, Current and Wire are answers, so other clues say loop, flow and lead: the Resistor clue reads "Part put in a loop to cut down the flow". The same unit is a word list on the electricity word search.

  • Conductors and Insulators fits the day before a sorting lab: pupils meet Copper, Rubber and Graphite on paper, then test them.

Questions and answers

Is the electricity crossword puzzle printable free of charge?

Yes, with no sign-up. Print gives the puzzle first and the answer key last, on a sheet of its own.

What grade is the electricity crossword for?

Circuit Unit Words suits grades 4 to 6, with answers such as Bulb, Fuse and Spark. The five themed sets suit grades 5 to 8. These bands are our judgment, not a published standard.

What is the difference between a conductor and an insulator?

A conductor is a material that allows electric charge to flow through it; metals are common conductors. In an insulator, current does not flow freely; rubber-like materials and most plastics are insulators. Both words are answers in Conductors and Insulators.

What is the difference between a series and a parallel circuit?

In a series circuit the parts are connected along a single path, so the same current runs through each. In a parallel circuit they are connected along several paths, and each part has the same voltage across it.
