Fire breathers and rain bringers

A dragon is a creature of folklore, told about all over the world. In Western stories dragons breathe fire, as one head here does. In East Asian stories they were usually kindly, and people believed Chinese dragons ruled the rain and the sea.

How this list was compiled: Our own pixel pictures, drawn square by square for this site on 12 by 12 and 24 by 24 grids in October 2026. Nothing is traced, scanned or copied from clip art, and no dragon is a character from a film, show, book or game and no picture shows a brand or a logo. The line about sea serpents and the lines about dragons in stories were checked against Wikipedia in October 2026. The color and square counts were counted from the finished grids. Licence: own work
