How it works

This business word search draws its first puzzle from Business Terms, 24 words from Entrepreneur to Competitor, with Revenue and Franchise between. Eight more lists sort 181 words by part of the company, each with a one-line meaning for an intro to business class.

Pick one part of the company

Start from a list offers six themed lists, from Starting a Company to Office and Meetings. Marketing and Sales is the longest: 47 words, such as Brand and Focus group, so it prints as a marketing word search on its own. No company, shop or product is named.

Use it as a business terms quiz

Tick Show clues, not words, for a business terms word search: pupils read "A slip that proves a payment was made" and hunt for Receipt. Invoice sits in the same list, and so do Wholesale and Retail, so the clues make pupils tell each pair apart.

  • For grades 3 to 5, pick Short Business Words (31, such as Logo and Loan), then 10 by 10 and Large print under More options.
  • Under the word list the sheet prints a writing task: use three of the words in sentences about a business you would like to start.
  • New puzzle draws fresh words, so Monday's business word search puzzle differs from Friday's. Two-word entries such as Cash flow hide with no gap.

Questions and answers

What is the difference between revenue and profit?

Revenue is all the money a business takes in from sales, before any costs come out. Profit is what is left once costs such as wages, rent and materials are taken away. A shop with high revenue still makes a loss if it spends more.

Which business words are on the list?

The 181 words cover one company: starting it, its people, money, marketing, shipping and the office. Banking and investing words such as stock and mortgage are left to the financial literacy word search. Spellings follow the American Heritage Dictionary, read in September 2026.

What is the difference between a brand, a logo and a slogan?

A brand is the name and image that set one company's products apart. A logo is the symbol it puts on products, signs and letters. A slogan is a short, catchy phrase it uses again and again. All three are in Marketing and Sales.
