Three shapes of the moon

The first three sheets are a crescent, a half moon and a full moon. On the Half moon the lit side is yellow and the dark side blue. The Full moon with craters has gray patches on the detailed grid, drawn for the dark plains of the real Moon.

Purple, black and blue night skies

Two skies are purple, two are black and four are blue. Six easy sheets fill all 144 squares. The Moon behind a cloud is the quickest at 102, because the cloud stays white, and the Sleeping moon leaves one square white: the pom-pom of its nightcap.

  • Yellow is in all 8 easy keys: it is the moon every time.
  • The easy Crescent moon and stars has 107 purple squares, so start with a sharp purple crayon.

How this list was compiled: Our own pixel pictures, drawn square by square for this site on 12 by 12 and 24 by 24 grids in October 2026. Nothing is traced, scanned or copied from clip art, and no picture shows a brand, a logo or a character from a film, show, book or game. The pictures are simplified and are not a chart of the Moon. The facts in the Half moon and Full moon with craters descriptions were checked against Wikipedia in October 2026. The color and square counts were counted from the finished grids. Licence: own work
