How it works
Every square of this equivalent fractions bingo is a fraction that can be simplified, such as 4/8, 9/24 or 30/100. No two squares are equal, so each call fits one square only.

Call the simplest form
In Call the game, each call shows the card's fraction with what to read under it: 20/32 comes with five eighths (5/8). Say the words or write 5/8 on the board, and keep 20/32 to yourself. To check a win, have the pupil simplify each covered fraction aloud.
What is on the cards
The 35 fractions equal halves, thirds, fourths, fifths, sixths, sevenths, eighths, ninths, tenths and twelfths. Most were made by multiplying both numbers by 2, 3 or 4. Two are tenths written as hundredths: 10/100 and 30/100.
- With 25 cards in play, a first line usually comes between calls 8 and 14.
- 9/24, 10/24 and 22/24 can share a card, so pupils have to simplify, not just match the bottom number.
Questions and answers
How do you play equivalent fractions bingo?
Each pupil gets a different card of 24 fractions around a free center. You call a fraction in simplest form, and whoever holds an equal fraction covers it. Five in a row, across, down or diagonal, wins.
Is there a free printable equivalent fraction bingo?
Yes. This equivalent fractions bingo printable is free, with no sign-up: up to 60 cards, 2 to a page on Letter or A4. The call sheet lists all 35 fractions with the simplest form to read out and a box to tick.
What grade is equivalent fractions bingo for?
Grade 4 and up. Grade 3 meets only simple pairs such as 1/2 = 2/4. Grade 4 multiplies both numbers by the same number (Common Core 4.NF.A.1), as every square here does. The sevenths and ninths go past the denominators grade 4 expects.
How is this different from fraction bingo?
Fraction bingo cards show fractions in simplest form, and you read each one by name. Equivalent fraction bingo cards show fractions such as 6/8, so pupils simplify before they cover a square.
