How it works
Each sheet draws 6 of our 135 sentences, each written with one to three mistakes and a line under it. The answer key shows every sentence fixed, so a child can check their own.

Two sets
Set picks one. Capitals and end marks (66 sentences) has a missing capital and a missing or wrong end mark: can you help me. Commas, spelling, word forms (69) adds commas in lists and dates, misspelt words, its and it's, and wrong verbs and plurals: the mouses ran away.
Your own sentences
Type one sentence a line as the child should see it, an equals sign, then the sentence fixed for the key: the dog runned home = The dog ran home. Your lines replace ours.
- The key puts a comma before and in a list (milk, eggs, and bread). If your school leaves it out, accept both.
Questions and answers
What mistakes are in the sentences?
Missing capitals, missing or wrong end marks, missing commas in lists, dates and speech, misspelt words (freind, becuase), wrong past tenses (goed, catched), wrong plurals (mouses, sheeps), its and it's, their and there, and me or him in place of I or he.
What grade are these for?
Capitals and end marks follows the Common Core for grade 1 (L.1.2a to c). The second set adds irregular past tenses from grade 2 (L.2.1d) and irregular plurals from grade 3 (L.3.1b).
Is there an answer key?
Yes. The key comes as the last page unless you untick Add an answer key as the last page under More options. It prints each sentence fixed. The fix shown is one right answer; a sentence can sometimes be fixed another way.
