How it works
This complementary supplementary angles worksheet opens with 12 figures on one page: 6 complements to find, then 6 supplements. Press Print or PDF, or New sheet for fresh angles. The answer key prints on its own page with each subtraction shown.

Four tasks under On the sheet
Find the complement and Find the supplement draw the pair touching, with one angle marked x. Complementary, supplementary or neither draws two separate angles and asks students to circle a name. The neither pairs miss by 5° or 10°, as in 139° and 51°. Solve for x labels an angle with an expression, as in (3x − 44) + 50 = 90. Under Missing angles are, Expressions puts x in both angles.
Text only: 24 problems on one page
Set Layout to Text only and each line reads The complement of 72° is ____°. Without figures, 24 problems fit one page. With figures, the opening 12 fit one page and 16 or 24 take 2. Switch off Find the supplement for a complementary angles worksheet alone.
- A complement figure marks its 90° whole with a small square at the vertex, not with a number.
- Complementary, supplementary or neither prints 2 figures to a row, so 12 of those problems take 2 pages.
- Text only widens the range: complements of 3° to 87°, where the figures stay between 20° and 70°.
Questions and answers
What are complementary and supplementary angles?
Complementary angles add up to 90° and supplementary angles add up to 180°. The two angles do not have to touch. A supplementary pair that shares a side and forms a straight line is called a linear pair.
Is there a complementary and supplementary angles worksheet PDF?
Yes, through your browser. Press Print or PDF, then choose Save as PDF as the printer. The file holds the sheet and its answer key, fitted to US Letter or A4. The page has no separate download button.
How do you find a complement or a supplement?
Subtract the angle from 90° for its complement, or from 180° for its supplement. On the opening sheet, the complement of 62° is 28° and the supplement of 66° is 114°. The key prints each subtraction in brackets.
What grade is this worksheet for?
Common Core 7.G.5 has grade 7 students use facts about supplementary, complementary, vertical and adjacent angles in multi-step problems to write and solve equations for an unknown angle. Solve for x sets the single-step kind only. The two Find tasks need only subtraction.
